Kiwanian of The Year - 2006 President Mark Bellamy shakes hands with Dr. Thomas W. Voglewede, the 2006 "Kiwanian of the Year," as Achievement Committee Chairman, Chet Haerlin looks on. Dr. Voglewede was awarded the "Kiwanian of the Year" again (also the 1994 recipient of the award) in 2006 for his outstanding support of Kiwanis projects serving the youth and children of the Smyth County/Marion community. He was a leader in such projects as the "Safe Kids City" safety education program; the Head Start Christmas Party; and the "Read Around the World" reading to school children program. Lt.
